Oaxaca Workshop 15th Anniversary
Mary Ellen just spent a few days with Marcela Taboada and Trine Ellitsgaard editing work for an exhibition of work by her Oaxaca Workshop students. She’s been teaching the workshop for 15 years and the students have produced some really amazing photographs. Over 125 students sent about 800 images. It was great to see the work, but also really challenging to edit it down.
The work will be exhibited at the Centro Fotografico Alvarez Bravo in Oaxaca to celebrate 15 years of the workshop’s relationship with the Centro and with Oaxaca. A catalog of the images will also be published.
Here are a few photographs that will be included in the exhibition and catalog.

Hate to be off topic but I just wanted to get the scoop on if you could write another post to go a bit further into detail on the topic? This one was great but I would love to hear more!

Having looked at numerous photographs and read several interviews that Mary Ellen Mark has undertaken I really feel that I would love to meet this lady. She has such a humble yet strong conviction to her work and to her subjects. I certainly relate to her philosophy towards her photography and her relationship with her subjects. She is certainly an inspiration to me as a student photographer who photographs a group of people who are marginalised
